11/18/04 - Former Fed. Ins. Administrator and Texas Ins. Commissioner speaks out

Recently FEMA's Acting Director David Maurstad and FEMA spokespersons have taken the position, contrary to Congress, the NFIP was never intended to, nor ever had, restored victims to their pre-flood conditions. This position is contrary to those held by previous Presidential appointees who ran the program. In fact, according to insiders, hundreds of thousands of claims settlements have been completed whereby the victims were restored to their pre-flood conditions as Congress intended.

On November 18, 2004, the former Director of the National Flood Insurance Program, and former Texas Insurance Commissioner J. Robert Hunter offered to help FEMAINFO.US "in any way".

Mr. Hunter worked under Presidents Ford and Carter and responded to a letter regarding the insurance industry's motivation for low-balling flood claims, Congressional intent for the NFIP and the recently uncovered training disparity between NFIP sales agents and adjusters.

Mr. Hunter is highly regarded in the industry and recently testified in the Marsh McClellan bid-rigging hearing in the US Senate. He believes fraud "may have recently occurred on a large scale" within the NFIP and its business partners.
